Watched this one nearly a month in the past and it was so mediocre I forgot about it! However nicely, the PR setup had despatched me screeners of “Lips Don’t Lie,” so there was no alternative however to see all 4 episodes of this anthology and now I need to overview it as nicely!
Probably the most outstanding and fairly insulting facet is that every of the episodes are literally named after a Raj Kapoor traditional—the Showman, arguably, has but to undergo a worse insult!
Episode 1, titled “Ram Teri Ganga Maili” talks a couple of man searching for assist for his sexual limitations, and to offer a twist, this “Ganga” is certainly “Maili” (soiled)! Episode 2, “Prem Rog,” is nearly bearable ONLY in case you examine it with the others, a couple of man searching for somebody as a paying visitor. Then we get a painter desirous to make amends after he betrays his love, and a henpecked husband takes motion.
Each episode smacks of an overdose of intercourse. It doesn’t matter what the story, backdrop or motivations, there’s a swimming pool in every story, and naturally, enormous homes with French home windows and no workers by any means to take care of them. Vikram Bhatt et al have no idea what they began!
Logic, after all, has no place on this silliest of narratives, and the twists are speculated to be wow, however my response as an alternative is ‘How?’—How was this challenge conceived after which truly green-lit by the buyers?
Just a few good artistes (Aahana Kumra, Shishir Sharma and even to an extent Tanuj Virwani) are wasted right here and we should marvel if the Raj Kapoor titles impressed them to just accept this one, or was it disproportionately excessive moolah? Sure, the manufacturing values are good, however the tales are so…sorry, expensive readers, phrases fail me.
